This CPD seminar includes information and guidance on the glass manufacturing process, architectural use, technical issues, and structural and aesthetic glass design opportunities and limitations.

This seminar is designed to inspire and inform architects about the potential that glass has as a building material. Rapid technological advances in glass have changed many of the parameters, and the remit of this seminar is to highlight these changes and show new ways they can be applied in construction. Featured topics include structural glazing, joining old to new, U-values, photo-voltaics, nanogel, prismatic glass, UV bonding – and an overview of the future of transparent architecture.

This seminar covers the designing in of secondary glazing as a solution that can enhance both the thermal and acoustic performance of existing fenestration on listed/conservation properties.
