RIBA Core Curriculum: Climate

The following CPD materials fall within the ‘Climate – sustainable architecture’ RIBA Core Curriculum topic area.
Seminar, by Ronacrete Ltd
This seminar offers guidance on the importance of SuDS-compliant permeable paving systems – focusing on resin bound surfacing, the different types of resin available on the market and what bases and sub-bases are required to produce a fully SuDS-compliant system.

Since 1969 Ronacrete has been at the forefront of product innovation within the construction industry. It is the only supplier of resin bound surfacing systems with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 accreditation. Working closely with its approved contractors Ronacrete is able to formulate some of the best products on the market, ensuring the product you specify is the right one for the job.

Seminar, by Boyco (UK) Ltd
This CPD presentation has been designed to help architects and specifiers working within the education sector make informed decisions on the FF&E specified within projects, by looking at teaching walls, cloak systems, shelving and more. The seminar examines the value, quality and suitability of various product types, and also shines a spotlight on effective methods of providing classroom storage by designing teacher walls that save space and money.

Boyco UK has been providing furniture to education projects for over 50 years, during which time it has built a reputation for supplying quality, well-designed products. Through years of working with schools and architects it has built a range of exclusive products that, as part of its mission to make specifying FF&E simpler, are now all available as BIM objects.

Approximate duration excluding time for questions/answers: 30 minutes.
Seminar, by ABG
This seminar explores the use of roof or podium areas for the temporary attenuation of stormwater during periods of heavy rainfall, which can then be released back into the environment at a controlled rate. An ‘at source’ SuDS process, useful on tight urban sites, it minimises the rainwater outlets required, and can be used in combination with various surface finishes.

ABG is a UK market leader in the design and manufacture of high performance, geocomposite systems for civil engineering, environmental and sustainable building projects. ABG has supplied most of the leading weather-proofing manufacturers with drainage and reservoir boards over the last 25 years, and designs and installs green, blue and vegetated roofs and retaining wall systems for many key developers.

Approximate duration excluding time for questions/answers: 45 minutes.
