Here are the latest CPD materials to have been assessed and approved by the RIBA.
This CPD seminar offers architects an in-depth working knowledge of natural stone for interior applications, exterior paving and cladding. It covers: the basic geology and mineral make-up of the stone varieties most common in architecture and design, which varieties of stone are suitable for various applications, what questions to ask when specifying stone, and how to troubleshoot various issues.

Artisans of Devizes is a UK-based company with 20-plus years’ experience sourcing and supplying natural stone and tiles. It is based in Devizes, Wiltshire, with a sales office in London. The general objective of this seminar is to provide a clear introduction and understanding of ultra-compact as a material and the opportunities for its use in architecture and design. It examines the general composition of the material, including the manufacturing processes involved, and offers an inspirational guide to areas of application. Also touched on are the material’s characteristics (both its strengths and weaknesses), care and maintenance, and design considerations to be taken into account when preparing specifications.
