Seminar, by Applelec
This seminar provides information on how backlighting is achieved using an edge-lit source, and how to maximise the effects of the system. The presentation provides architects with an insight into LED light sheets, how panels can be adapted to suit specific projects, and how edge-lit panels can provide a solution for complex or difficult designs.

This seminar covers the key concepts specifiers should take into account when specifying daylighting. They include the new Part L Building Regulations, technical comparisons between different daylighting products on the market, and how to save energy using daylight in different project environments (including retail, distribution, warehouses, schools and leisure facilities). The seminar is illustrated using many project examples. Case studies also feature daylight modelling studies and payback calculations of standard skylights versus high performance prismatic skylights in UK installations.

This CPD seminar aims to provide an understanding of LEDs – what LEDs can create in architecture and how they can be integrated into projects. It also looks at how to specify a good LED.
