Seminar, by Jacksons Fencing
Discusses perimeter security and key considerations when selecting and specifying the most appropriate solutions for different circumstances. Topics covered include perimeter security design and installation (specifically fencing, gates and vehicle barriers), relevant standards, how materials and their treatment can affect the resilience and performance of perimeter security products, the range of products available, and the importance of proper inspection, maintenance and repair to the integrity of perimeter security products.

A look at the specification of physical and technological perimeter security products. Explores the fundamental principles of physical security that ensure that a security scheme is operationally and aesthetically appropriate and fit for purpose. Topics covered include: a history of hostile vehicle mitigation attacks and how the industry has developed; the importance of product positioning and stand-off to mitigate and reduce the impact of a potential vehicular attack; current and realistic security threats to people and CNI (critical national infrastructure), and the measures that can be used to protect both; the 'gap' or delay between the identification of a vulnerability or threat and the implementation of mitigation; and, relevant legislation and certification standards, and how to display them.
