Core Curriculum: Designing and building it

A wide ranging Core Curriculum subject area offering something for practically everyone. The following five seminars are all delivered by market leaders and experts in their own field.
This seminar focuses on: the properties and sustainability of aluminium, aluminium production and recycling, BREEAM assessment of aluminium windows, aluminium windows within the BFRC window energy rating scheme, thermal performance of aluminium windows and, sustainability through responsible sourcing and partnering of suppliers.

A presentation that examines working with lightweight panels when designing spaces, whether residential or commercial. This CPD seminar touches on the trend for lightweight boards and how this is currently being utilised within the industry, including the composition of lightweight boards and how easy it is to work with them. It also looks at where the panels can and have been used, and how they are fabricated and processed.

A CPD seminar exploring the demands of shared bathroom facilities, requirements for water conservation and how to achieve a sustainable and economical commercial washroom with manually operated time-flow tap and shower controls. It covers important criteria when specifying time-flow controls for sinks and showers, and includes alternative solutions for specialist areas. Example products are used as props.

Seminar, by Herman Miller
Collaboration in the workplace is much talked about today, with successfully designed spaces (alongside an enabling culture), becoming key to everyday business activity. Herman Miller commissioned Dr Nigel Oseland, a workplace psychologist, to review how the psychology of collaboration impacts workplace design. This seminar will share these findings with you, as well as some observational research carried out by the Herman Miller international research team.
