Two CPD materials on speaker technology and audio visual standards and best practices from two specialist companies
This seminar focuses on standards in the audio visual industry by identifying audiovisual best practices, recognising the similarity of audiovisual standards and standards familiar to architects, and offering an understanding of how an audio visual standard is developed.

InfoComm International is the international trade association of the professional audiovisual and information communications industries. Established in 1939, InfoComm has over 5,000 members in more than 80 countries. It organises trade shows in the USA, Middle East, Latin America and China, and co-owns Integrated Systems Events, organisers of the largest Systems Integration tradeshows in Europe and Russia, ISE and ISR. The association offers industry expertise and the Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) credential, the only AV certification recognized by ISO.
This seminar explores why sound is needed in the modern world, and the basic principles of conventional sound technology. This is contrasted against Distributed Mode Loudspeakers, which make sound in a way which is analogous to acoustical musical instruments. This allows flat panels designs which can be plastered over, creating a freedom of design that was not previously possible.

Amina Technologies specialises in designing and manufacturing invisible loudspeakers that can be installed in walls or ceilings, covered by a final 2mm skim of plaster, and decorated over as normal. Amina’s invisible loudspeakers can also be fitted behind wood, wood veneer, acrylic stone etc allowing stunning aesthetics to be combined with high clarity room-filling sound.
