Core Curriculum: Climate

The core curriculum topic ‘climate’ includes a wide variety of subject areas, from understanding and prioritising energy efficiency in low carbon design, to post-occupancy evaluation and feedback. Regulation, benchmarking tools and assessment methods also feature prominently.
This seminar focuses on how heat pumps work and how they contribute to CO2 reduction and energy conservation. It explains how this technology is harnessed, where and when it can be used, how to design and size an effective system, and what factors affect efficiency and performance. Its ultimate aim is to provide architects with the confidence to specify air source heat pumps (ASHP) in a project.

Kingspan Environmental is a leading manufacturer of environmental solutions specialising in energy generation, sustainable water management and pollution prevention. Its portfolio includes off-mains drainage systems, rainwater harvesting, solar thermal packages and hot water cylinders, as well as air source heat pumps for domestic, commercial and industrial applications.
