Here are the latest CPD materials to have been assessed and approved by the RIBA.
This seminar explores the possibilities and benefits of both standard and more sophisticated solutions for the design of roof trusses, engineered joists and spandrel panels, including their interface and positioning within the overall structure. Illustrated with project examples, it aims to discuss how early specialist design dialogue can reduce costs and deliver programme benefits.

Crendon is one of the largest timber truss and engineered joist companies in the UK. Specialising in large residential schemes, major contractors often select Crendon to be an integral part of the roof design process. Its considerable experience of designing – and installing – truss packages allows development of comprehensive solutions, often requiring little or no structural steelwork.

This engaging CPD seminar provides architects and specifiers with the tools to succeed when working within care environments, with a particular focus on patient-lifting solutions. The inclusion of videos, drawings and real-life case studies help bring the subject to life, and feature information on hoist unit types, installation options, tracking configurations and components, room layouts, and patient and carer considerations. This is a must-see CPD presentation for architects working within the healthcare sector.

Innova is widely viewed as one of the most forward-thinking installers of patient-lifting hoists. It’s easy to see why, with innovations such as the world’s first fully-automatic track system, through to the only single bariatric hoist unit with a weight limit of half a ton! Innova also manufactures a truly unique hoist that is hidden when not in use.

Seminar, by Big Ass Fans
The purpose of this presentation is to advise architects about a heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) design strategy that pairs elevated air speeds with traditional air conditioning. It demonstrates how the use of ceiling fans can improve thermal comfort and air distribution, reduce condensation, minimise ductwork and increase energy savings.

Big Ass Fans’ provocative moniker originated with massive overhead fans that brought comfort and energy savings. Today though, Big Ass means quality, design and working directly with customers to solve their problems. Big Ass doesn’t do things by half. It does them Big Ass.
