RIBA CPD Showcase

Mechanical heating, cooling and refrigeration

The following CPD materials have all been assessed and approved by the RIBA.
This CPD seminar provides an up-to-date overview of all electric underfloor heating solutions for a range of requirements, from refurbishment and new build projects to frost protection of driveways and loading bays. Heating controls are also featured in the presentation, including the increasing demand for control via app/smartphone.

Previously part of the Danfoss Group, Gaia has been operating in the UK for over 25 years, designing and supplying quality electric and hydronic underfloor heating systems. With an in-house design and technical team Gaia is an experienced and professional underfloor heating specialist that prides itself on delivering quality and reliable solutions for projects.

Approximate duration excluding time for questions/answers: 45 minutes.

Ground-air heat exchangers offer an innovative method for heating and cooling spaces, and are often used on zero carbon/Passivhaus buildings. Ventilation air is simply drawn through underground pipes that pre-heat the air in winter and pre-cool it in summer. This CPD seminar explains in more depth how those systems work and how to specify them correctly.

REHAU Ltd is a worldwide manufacturing company with over 20,000 employees, capable of showcasing market-specific know-how via its three business units: Building Solutions, Automotive and Industry.

The REHAU Building Solutions division focuses on energy efficiency. It is one of the world’s largest extruders of PVC-U window profiles and also supplies underfloor heating, heating and plumbing, cable management and renewable energy solutions, such as Ground-Air Heat Exchangers (GAHE).

Approximate duration excluding time for questions/answers: one hour.
Seminar, by OMNIE
The aim of this seminar is to provide a clear understanding of underfloor heating (UFH), backed by key evidence showing the importance of specifying the correct systems to ensure the most energy-efficient solutions. It provides valuable information on how UFH is best incorporated into all forms of floor construction and how it works in conjunction with floor finishes.

Energy-efficient underfloor heating is part of the OMNIE ‘whole house solution’, which includes heat pumps and MVHR systems. OMNIE has years of experience in the industry, working with architects to provide customers with the confidence that both heating and ventilation technologies will work together, effectively and efficiently – all designed, supplied and fully supported from a single source.

Approximate duration excluding time for questions/answers: 45 minutes.
