Inclusive environments

The following RIBA-approved CPD materials fall within the RIBA core curriculum topic ‘Inclusive environments’, which covers the legislation and principles that apply to creating inclusive environments that meet the diverse needs of the people wanting to use them. It also covers having the knowledge and skills to develop and implement inclusive design strategies and methods at all spatial scales.
Seminar, by Reynaers Aluminium
A comprehensive review of accessible solutions for aluminium windows and doors, illustrated with case study examples. Topics covered include: the importance and impact of legislation such as The Discrimination Act 1995 (c 50) and its replacement, the Equality Act 2019; Approved Document M and its requirements for windows and doors; and, solutions that assist in meeting accessibility requirements.

This presentation looks at how platform and retracting stair lifts can provide access to all types of private and commercial premises, including Grade I listed buildings.

Explore some of the main types of accessible hardware available in modern specification. Topics covered include the history and importance of the Equality Act 2010, accessible door entries and clearance, and real world applications of accessible living products and systems.
