This seminar aims to: provide an understanding of the importance of sunlight/daylight availability and the impacts of shadowing; review associated UK and international building codes/design guides and best practice; describe how green building design is affected by sunlight/daylight, and; contextualise sunlight/daylight within the UK planning process.

This CPD seminar provides an insight into different offsite construction methods and how they may be a solution for today’s construction challenges. It starts with an outline of the Government’s construction 2025 targets (reduction in CO2, build time, cost, improved safety etc) and moves on to explain how specifiers can overcome these challenges by using various offsite construction methods.
IKO Polymeric has recently launched a zero-waste, long-spanning composite roofing panel and this CPD is a result of this unique product innovation and involvement in the offsite industry. As well as this recent launch, IKO Polymeric has for more than five years been manufacturing pre-fabricated roofing units for fast track installation.

Showing the process from rock face to finished product, this visit gives an insight into the challenges of crafting a natural product.
