Modern façades are becoming more complex, and often combine different types of cladding. There is a recognised need for a more detailed, structured and collaborative approach to rainscreen cladding support systems specification, procurement and installation. Fluent communications between the architect, specialist cladding contractor and the material and rainscreen support systems manufacturer is crucial. It’s a serious business and support systems need to be ‘fit for purpose’. This CPD module discusses what needs to be considered to realise a safe and optimum rainscreen cladding support structure, and presents an approach that takes into account both the specifier’s and installer’s needs.
