This presentation covers the specification of conventional and balanced flue gas fires, as well as solid fuel fires. It addresses potential pitfalls and provides examples of innovative solutions, including a demonstration on how to install a balanced flue gas fire almost anywhere, while still taking into account relevant legislation.

Common errors as well as best practice in insulation specification are demonstrated, followed by a discussion of the different materials (rigid insulation, fibre, glass, multi-foils) and their applications.
