Seminar, by Q-railing
Q-railing’s seminar will equip designers to navigate the standards and legislation they are required to meet when specifying balustrading. All guidance is then cross-referenced with up-to-date case studies of completed projects.

Q-railing originates from a company called Antiqua, which manufactures brass, copper and bar fittings. Due to the success of the stainless steel railing system, Q-railing was launched in 1998.
Q-railing now has a turnover of around €43m, and the UK branch is the largest outside Germany (the location of the company’s headquarters). Q-railing specialises in glass and stainless steel balustrades, from conventional post and clamp systems to frameless glass channels.

The UK’s first RIBA-accredited Vacuum Insulation Panel (VIP) CPD seminar, this 45-minute presentation focuses on the growing use of VIPs in the UK construction sector. The session examines the following key areas: what is a vacuum insulation panel, comparison against traditional insulations, factors affecting VIP performance, construction applications, and the pros and cons of VIP insulation.

Nanopore Insulation Ltd was formed in 2006 to produce VIPs in the UK for the European market. With a thermal conductance value of 0.0038W/mK its VIPs are the best form of commercially available, high performance insulation on the market today. 25mm VIPs are equivalent to 150mm polyurethane insulation.
