The following materials fall within the ‘Health, safety and wellbeing’ RIBA Core Curriculum subject area, which covers the legal, professional and ethical duties in relation to construction site and workplace safety and wellbeing. The topic also covers developing and managing appropriate strategies, processes, tools and systems, as designers, principal designers, architects, business and employers. At least 20 of your 35 mandatory CPD hours must fall within with the ten RIBA core curriculum CPD topics. The Hackitt report Building a Safer Future called for a seamless golden thread of fire safety information to link everyone from specifier to building maintenance team. Manufacturers have been tasked with being more transparent with regard to products’ verified fire resistance. This CPD focusses on the key differences between BS476 Part 20 tested against CE marked firestop products, and discusses the ten questions every specifier should ask to establish whether the fire seal they have actually does what it says on the tin.
