RIBA CPD Showcase

Project management

The RIBA CPD Providers Network offers a huge choice and variety of project management CPD materials, but getting paid and BIM (Building Information Modelling) are right up there on most architects' shopping lists. Here's a brief synopsis of both, plus three more for good measure.
Seminar, by Jigsaw Systems Ltd
This presentation is an introduction to Building Information Modelling (BIM) which will help architects understand what exactly BIM is, its benefits, and why the industry is moving forward with BIM. It discusses the challenges of BIM implementation and what it means for the architect and architectural practices, and reviews a few case studies.

Jigsaw Systems was formed in 1992. It is one of the UK's leading specialist IT suppliers and largest Apple and Adobe dealer. With a service-based strategy, Jigsaw is able to offer a comprehensive range of professional services, including cross-platform integration, high speed/capacity storage and networking, archiving systems, render farms, conferencing systems and much more.

This seminar has been designed to teach architects, planners and developers about verifiable imagery – what it is, and when and why it should be used for planning purposes. Also covered are the benefits of employing an independent visualisation agency, an overview of the production stages involved and the importance of creating an audit trail throughout the process.
