This seminar focuses on the design of stunning, energy-efficient lighting schemes. It looks at the shifting lighting landscape and examines how regulatory, technical and consumer pressure has fundamentally altered the way design professionals approach residential lighting. There is an emphasis on understanding the technology and characteristics of LED lighting and how to use LED in residential lighting schemes.

This seminar provides an overview of the potential time and energy savings that may be achieved by using inductive coupling to power LED lighting systems, instead of traditional LED drivers. It explains why new technology is required to further reduce energy consumption and how the use of high frequency AC inductive coupling can improve efficiency. It concludes by highlighting its recent inclusion in the IET Code Of Practice For The Application of LED Lighting Systems.
