The following CPD materials fall within the ‘Design, construction and technology’ RIBA Core Curriculum topic area.
This CPD module details the tremendous variety of carpet manufacturing processes and the relative attributes of each method. It also explores the different types of carpet construction and their features and benefits.

Seminar, by BASWA acoustic AG
Offers technical insight into seamless acoustic ceilings, also known as acoustic plaster systems. Seamless acoustic ceilings reduce reverberation and increase acoustic comfort, and conform to the design with a smooth monolithic finish. This seminar looks at how seamless acoustic plaster works, how acoustics affect the user experience and what can be achieved.

Based in Switzerland, BASWA is the innovator behind seamless acoustic ceilings. Factory Visit, by Formica Group
A tour of a laminate factory, office and fabrication support unit. Includes: an overview of the laminate manufacturing process and a hands-on opportunity to work with laminate, including bonding and post forming; the components and processes of laminate manufacturing; a discussion of the various grades of laminate; an overview of laminate specification, and; environmental considerations.

Examines the options facing specifiers when designing safety and security into a site. This seminar concentrates on the following learning aims: assessing the security risks, looking at the infrastructure, product choice, and implementation. Upon completion the specifier should have a thorough understanding of the security risks associated with the work environment and some of the products one can install to not only protect staff and assets, but also fit any building infrastructure.

With more than 40 years’ experience Automatic Systems designs and manufactures entrance control equipment.
