Seminar, by REHAU Ltd
Gain a greater understanding of the benefits and features of different materials and styles used in fenestration, as well as the impact of British standards, Building Regulations and environmental standards.

Factory Visit, by Mumford & Wood Ltd
This tour starts in the timber zone where the selection process is explained, including the sourcing of FSC certified timber and the environs in which it grows. Manufacturing processes are then identified, as the engineered timber progresses through many procedures to finishing and final assembly. Specifiers will have a chance to view new plant that relies on efficient software planning and reduced manual processes, all geared toward lean manufacturing principles. Finally, there will be a discussion of the factory’s total quality management philosophy, which is focused on customer needs.

Mumford & Wood was established in 1954 to produce high quality joinery products using the best quality timber, traditional craftsmanship and an emphasis on attention to detail. It is now one of the UK's premium brands for bespoke timber sash windows, offering a full range of traditional and contemporary style wooden sash windows, as well as casement windows, French doors, bi-fold and entrance doors. Mumford & Wood has gained environmental management certification for the environmentally-friendly way in which it sources and disposes of timber and other materials.

Seminar, by Eurocell plc
Examines the specification of windows, specifically PVC-U windows, including issues such as value engineering, U-values, noise attenuation, sustainability and recycling. This seminar also reviews how the windows market has changed over the years by looking at the past, present and future of window specifications, requirements and building regulations and showing how PVC windows are appropriate for specialist applications.

Eurocell plc is one of the UK’s leading manufacturers, distributors and recyclers of PVC-U windows, doors, conservatories and roofline systems. The company has an annual turnover of approximately £220m and employs 1,400 people throughout the UK. This CPD seminar demonstrates the design flexibility and modern benefits of PVC-U and explores some of the common concerns relating to PVC-U and its use in fenestration. The presentation contests the view that PVC-U products are low quality, and instead shows how they enable specifiers to select PVC-U windows and doors with confidence.
