Seminar, by Brilliant Lighting
Examines how regulatory pressure and consumer demand for energy-efficiency have changed the lighting landscape, thereby creating particular challenges when lighting historic and other sensitive buildings. LED is a rapidly evolving light source capable of offering high quality light and energy-efficiency, but it is technically more complex to design and work with. This presentation therefore also discusses how lighting control systems are the best way to control LEDs, both from an end-user and professional installer’s perspective. Finally, case study examples illustrate how lighting design, high quality LED fittings, and lighting control systems combine to deliver stunning lighting schemes in historic, sensitive and listed properties.

Brilliant Lighting is an inspirational lighting design business with a difference. Its small, highly skilled team brings expertise across a range of disciplines. It understands interior design and how lighting integrates with, and enhances, residential spaces. The company also has an in-depth knowledge of construction, cabling and project management.

Online Learning, by Amina Technologies Ltd
Explores the options available to architects and interior designers wishing to incorporate sound sources into projects for entertainment, ambience, education or safety reasons. Includes a discussion of the properties and benefits of DML (distributed mode loudspeakers), how invisible sound solutions can be created with zero visual impact, sound reproduction and how the listening experience is impacted by the presence (or otherwise) of different parts of the frequency spectrum, speaker requirements for different applications (including 3D sound), and options for fire barriers and voice evacuation, where required.

Amina designs and manufactures invisible loudspeakers at its base in Huntingdon, UK. Ideal for both modern minimalist designs where audio clutter is ruinous to appearance, and historic buildings where an authentic look and feel can be combined with modern AV requirements. Amina systems are typically found in high-end residential and commercial premises.
