A basic introduction to pitched roofing, including common roofing materials and the anatomy of a roof, sustainability and the supply chain, double lapped vs single lapped comparison, roof design and fixing specification considerations, and things that can go wrong!

GRP rooflights are highly durable and can be safely specified as non-fragile, providing they have been manufactured to industry standards, correctly fixed, and used in conjunction with structurally-compatible roofing components. This document is designed to provide a straightforward guide for the designer, to simplify the specification of GRP rooflights to achieve non-fragility and ensure a 25-year lifespan.

Online Learning, by Single Ply Roofing Association
This course covers the essentials of good flat roofing practice in general, and single ply roofing in particular, focussing on design, product selection, installation and handover. It highlights to architects and designers the key issues that should be considered when planning a single ply flat roof project. There’s an assessment at the end to test your understanding.

SPRA is the trade association representing the UK’s single ply roofing industry. Its mission is to achieve growth and sustainability in all sectors of the single ply roofing industry by raising the awareness of single ply technology, and by ensuring that manufacturing and installation standards remain high. SPRA members are actively involved in developing ways to improve single ply products, installations and aftercare.
