Delivering a Through Wall Rainscreen Solution
This is a CPD presentation focused on the design of a through-wall façade solution, where we will explore crucial factors to consider when selecting components.

In this comprehensive CPD session, we define a through-wall as comprising all wall components from the external sheathing board outward, culminating in the façade. By dissecting the façade system into eight essential elements, we delve into individual product performance requirements, empowering you to craft a holistic solution.

Moreover, we offer a comprehensive overview of fire ratings and introduce our certified, fire-rated solutions. Discover the spotlight on sheathing boards, as we delve into specific areas that demand your attention. Additionally, we delve into key considerations surrounding health and safety and the environment, ensuring a well-rounded approach to your façade design. This engaging presentation is designed to both inform and inspire.

After completing this CPD delegates should:
1. Have a holitic review of through wall facade creation, especially in relation to fire.
2.Be able to impart an understanding of which facade elements are key to building safety.
3. Know the importance of Certification and Testing in facade design.
4. Have an understanding of material limitations, no one product will cover all technical challenges.
5. Have a consideration of the benefits of system certification.

The Benefits of EWI Facades
This CPD has been created to provide information on external wall insulation, how the different types interact with a range of different facades and the legislative documents that apply when installing external thermal insulated composite systems. It will help you to understand the following topics:
- External Thermal Insulation Composite Systems (ETICS)
- The different types of insulation available and how these interact with your facade
- The different facade types and individual product performance
- Relevant legislation and statutory information including fire performance
- Health and safety issues
- Sustainability issues

Fire Compliance & Performance of ETICS Façade Solutions
This CPD will discuss what is expected when using External Wall Insulation as a form of cladding. It will move through an explanation on reaction to fire and resistance to fire, an overview of testing, legislation, health and safety, sustainability and some case studies. By the end of the seminar you should have a greater understanding of:
- Complex changing legislation in relation to EWI facades and fire.
- The issues that have been raised post Grenfell
- The makeup of the Euroclasses used in Reaction to Fire and the importance of the smoke and burning droplet sub categories

NLU- Delivering a Through Wall Solution: A Guide to Specifying the Components Required with a Focus on Fire Rated Solutions NLU
This CPD looks at some of the important considerations when deciding what components should be used when designing a through wall solution. It looks specifically at the 6 key material layers required to build a though wall solution, starting at the structure of the building, going outwards and finishing at the facade. Both lightweight steel and timber frame builds are explored, building on the components and concluding with a complete system. By examining each material in detail, different product options are explored in combination with industry standards to identify which products meets the requirements. The area of fire ratings is explored in detail and product compatibility considerations for timber frame and steel frame are discussed and case studies explored. This CPD will help you to understand the following topics:
- Individual product performance considerations for sheathing boards, fixings, envelope sealing solutions, facade support frames, insulation and facades
- Fire, racking, acoustics, mechanical performance and exposure considerations of sheathing boards
- Fire rated wall solutions and how to create and specify a through wall fire rated solution
- The purpose of a facade and the different types of facade available
- Industry standards and legislation with a focus on fire testing
