Stone

The following CPD materials have been assessed and approved by the RIBA.
This seminar describes, stage by stage, the practical processes involved in a stone conservation contract, from understanding the common mechanisms of stone decay, through assessing the repair techniques available, to selecting the correct replacement stone, and highlighting the questions and decisions that architects must ask themselves when specifying stone conservation.

Wells Cathedral Stonemasons works closely with architects on restoration, conservation, and new build, and believes the sensitive nature of much of the work demands an integrated approach. To this end the company provides clients with a comprehensive design and consultancy service, which ensures that the contract proceeds smoothly and efficiently from initial survey through to installation.
