This seminar highlights the availability of accessibility/sanitary products and illustrates how contemporary design can be used to create beautiful accessible bathrooms which are not only functional but comply with current regulations and the requirements of people with disabilities. By the end of the CPD you should have a greater understanding of:
- Why well-designed accessibility spaces do not need to look institutional
- How well designed accessible spaces can contribute to the physical but also the mental wellbeing of their users
- How to interpret the regulations to promote inclusive design

This seminar offers highlights perceived problems with The Equality Act, BS 8300:2001 and Part M of the building regulations relating to door furniture and offers solutions. The seminar looks at these three pieces of statutory requirements, where we are and how we got there. Some time is spent discussing what is "reasonable" regarding Document M, what are Light Reflectance Values and why they exist.
